Rural Development Grant Support
A Carmarthenshire energy business is moving into a state-of-the-art new home thanks to funding through the Rural Conversion Grant scheme which is part funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
The owners of Beacon Stoves are celebrating thanks to a grant from the Rural Conversion Grant to convert a redundant building into a brand new base for the flourishing business. Beacon Stoves has been built up around the sale of solid fuel but has diversified in recent years to specialise in the sale of biomass heating, the processing of wood fuel and the manufacture of slate hearths. The redundant building will be converted, with a new modern showroom, training room, store rooms and entrance lobby. This project will safeguard and create jobs, as well as provide a workshop for plumbers to be trained in the installation of environmentally friendly heating systems.
The Rural Conversion Grant is part of a major package of funding to support businesses and to create jobs and regenerate rural parts of Carmarthenshire. The project has received funding through the Rural Development Plan.
